Now, Shankaracharya Hospital to nurse coronavirus patients

In future, the citizens of the district who are found coronavirus positive will be treated at Shankaracharya Hospital, Junwani, Bhilai. Preparations have been completed in this regard. Collector Dr Sarveshwar Narendra Bhure inspected the hospital on Saturday and discussed the preparations with the staff appointed there. Officials said that all preparations have been completed. According to SOP, the hospital is ready for treatment. Duty has been imposed in the shift of physicians and nursing staff. Their workdays and the quarantine days thereafter have also been set.
 
CMHO Dr Gambhir Singh Thakur, SDM Khemlal Verma and other officials were present during the inspection. The officials informed that in all 113 beds have been placed here. It has 15 beds for ICU, 31 beds HDU and 65 general ward beds. In addition, 32 beds have been kept in reserve. The Collector inspected all the wards and ICUs. The hospital also has facilities for lab etc. Collector also took other information including housekeeping. He said that duty rotation and responsibility of all should be done as per SOP. CMHO informed that four batches have been put up for this.
 
Everyone has also been trained and SOP has been told. As soon as the positive patient is identified, the entire process of bringing and admitting them has been determined. When Collector asked about what kind of SOP will be there from entry point to bed? The staff said that there is a system of thermal scanners and other testing equipment at the entry point itself.
 
After this, he gave further detailed information to Collector. He was also apprised that preparations have also been made in the hospital for the situation when a positive pregnant woman comes and her pregnancy time is very close. In such a situation, delivery facility of both normal and caesarean will also remain in the hospital. Besides it the staffs have been provided training at AIIMS on how Covid Hospital works. How should the treatment of the patient be done. What are the precautions to be taken to prevent infection have been given by trained officers and employees. The hospital has been fully sanitised and frequent sanitisation and other measures to stop the covid infection will be taken continuously. PPE kits, N-95 masks and all other facilities required for treatment are fully available in the hospital.
