In another session of the online interactive series, senior artist Akhilesh Verma talked about his journey as an artist on Saturday. In the session organised by Foundation of Art and Culture, Akhilesh Verma began by sharing the experience of his childhood, where he grew under the shade of his father, who was also a well recognised painter of his time.

Later he talked about his teachers like Chandresh Saxena and Ramnarayan Dubey, who provided a progressive environment to Akhilesh, which helped him grow as an artist. For his paintings, Akhilesh find inspiration from the poems, novels and other literatures which he read. “Sometimes, inspiration also poses challenge to us”.

“Once, my last painting gave me inspiration to make my new painting. Many time colours inspire me to create painting,” said Akhilesh who has exhibited his creations key galleries across the world. It was a little difficult in the beginning, when he started using colours in his paintings. “At my home, I used to get a lot of advice about adding colours from senior painters, who used to visit home. But that harmed me more.”
