‘Buddha Pournima’ celebration to be low key affair at Dragon Palace Temple today

Devotees busy in making arrangements at Dragon Palace Temple, Kamptee for 2582th birth anniversary of Tathagat Bhagwan Gautam Buddha and ‘Vaishakh Pournima’ celebrations.

On the occasion of 2582th birth anniversary of Tathagat Bhagwan Gautam Buddha and ‘Vaishakh Pournima’, a special programme of ‘Buddha Vandana’ is organised at Dragon Palace Temple in Kamptee on May 7 at 10 am. The preparations to celebrate ‘Buddha Pournima’ are in full swing at Dragon Palace. But due to lockdown and coronavirus pandemic, the management has decided not to celebrate ‘Buddha Jayanti’ on large scale. Some office-bearers and staff members along with chief of Dragon Palace and President of Ogawa Society Adv Sulekha Kumbhare will attend the programme in Dragon Palace temple premises.
All devotees should celebrate ‘Buddha Pournima’ at their residences, appealed Adv Sulekha Kumbhare. Dragon Palace Temple had started distribution of one lakh face masks to needy during lockdown. The campaign will conclude on ‘Buddha Pournima’. These masks were prepared by the hundreds of women workers at Dadasaheb Kumbhare Bahuuddeshiya Prashikshan Kendra.
Celebrate Buddha Pournima while at home: Dr Raut
During this lockdown period devotees of Tathagat Bhagwan Gautam Buddha should celebrate 2582nd birth anniversary of Bhagwan Gautam Buddha in their houses, appealed Nagpur District Guardian Minister, Dr Nitin Raut. Devotees should follow ‘Atta Deep Bhav’ or ‘Be Thy Own Light’ principle of Bhagwan Gautam Buddha and celebrate Buddha Jayanti on May 7 in their residences by wearing white clothes.
They should pay tributes to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar and Tathagat Gautam Buddha by chanting ‘Trisharan’, ‘Panchasheel’ and prayer, he said.
