CGST Deptt will give all possible help to traders: Bheemashankar

NAG Vidarbha Chamber of Commerce (NVCC), leading traders body of the region with 13 lakh members, on Friday organised a zoom webinar regarding GST problems to be faced during and after lockdown. H R Bhemashankar, Chief Commissioner GST Department, Nagpur was the key note speaker on the occasion. During his addressed Bhemashankar said, “The CGST Department is well aware of the difficulties faced by the traders and ready to give all possible help.”
 
He also assured that if help required the Department will contact Central GST Department to give more compensation. Bhemashankar also satisfied the quires raised by the traders. Also present on the occasion were R S Maheshwari, Commissioner CGST, Nagpur; Mukul Patil, Joint Commissioner CGST Nagpur and Suresh Rayalu, Supretendent CGST, Nagpur. Ramavtar Totla, Secretary of NVCC shed light on the hardships being faced by traders during the lockdown. “We want the Department to elaborated the relief given in filing returns and other compliance in details,” Totla said.
 
Ashwin Mehadia, President of NVCC added that the relief given was insufficient and the GST Department must announce a new package. CA Ritesh Mehta, Co-convenor of NVCC sub committee on indirect taxes suggested that allow payment on the basis of GST receipts. Late fees and interest must be exempted for all types of dealers. Extend filing returns in the ‘Sab Ka Vikas’ scheme till December 2020.
 
Special discount must be given on mask, senitiser and PPE kits in GST, used for prevention of coronavirus, were suggested by CA Mehta. A memorandum of demand was also handed to Chief Commissioner on the occasion. Dipen Agrawal, Past President of NVCC, Hemant Gandhi, IPP, Farooque Akbani and advocate Sanjay Agrawal,vice-presidents; Sachin Punyani, Treasurer; Umesh Patel and Swapnil Ahirkar, joint secretaries; Vishnu Pacheriwala from NCCL, Tejinder Singh Renu of VT A and others participated in the seminar.
