MLA Mohan Mate (C), along with NMC and NIT officials inspected the sports complex on Umred Road.

Mate said the sport complex project is one of its kind and is very crucial for development of Vidarbha players. “The project being in Nagpur — and Nagpur being the centre of the country, the sports complex has a special importance for athletes and players. Slow progress and lack of development of the project has halted the progress of many athletes,” Mate said.

Mate not only expressed his unhappiness over the slow development but also asked the reason for the long delay to the accompanying officials. Unable to get proper answers from the authorities, Mate gave them a stern warning and asked them to complete the project at the earliest.

On this occasion, Milind Devras, Project Engineer; Pankaj Patil, Assistant Engineer; Prashant Satpute, Pintu Zalke, President of Standing Committee, NMC; Nagesh Sahare, Corporator; Laxmikant Kirpane, Ritesh Pande, Balu Babhare, Nagpur Improvement Trust officers, contractors and others were present.
Earlier, Mate also inspected several grounds, jogging parks and gymnasiums in South Nagpur area and also instructed authorities to resolve the issues of the public.
