FOUR athletes of Miles N Milers Academy are going to participate in Virtual Race Across West happening in America, informs Dr Amit Samarth of sports institutions Miles N Milers and Endurance Sports Academy. Race Across West is a Ultracycling Race in America which is 1480 km and with a climbing of 25,000 metres. This year Race AcrossWest is cancelled due to COVID-19. But the organisers are conducting it on a virtual platform.

The riders will be riding on state of art indoor cycling equipment and will be streaming live on facebook. Sachin Shirbavikar, a businessman; Chartered Accountant ,Vivek Shah; Praveen Sapkal, consultant and businessman and Jitendra Patel also a businessman will be taking part in the ultra race. All these athletes have been training with Dr Samarth for the race for more than a year. They have been training rigorously for more than 40 hours every week. Virtual Race Across West will be actually more hard than real race because organisers have added more climbing on the route than real race.

All the riders will be riding more than 20 hours on their indoor cycling equipment to complete this race within 4 days. These state of the art indoor cycling machines simulate exactly same road like conditions in the home. So the riders have to do almost same amount of effort inside home. Plus they also have to face the dull monotonous conditions of the home environment. This is first time such a long virtual race is being organised in the world. With the use of technology cyclist all across the world can compete in the virtual world from their homes.
