Subramanian clinches online blitz title

CITY’S Arena Grand Master R Shiva Subramanian clinched the fourth edition of the online chess tournament organised by Nagpur District Chess Association. The blitz online chess meet was organised by Nagpur District Chess Association and was held on the server of lichess.org. In the competition, Subramanian took the top perch with eight points and with a better tie-break score. He was tied with second seed Priyanshu Patil but emerged winner on better progressive score.
 
He had defeated Priyanshu in the fifth round battle. Aryan Deogade ended third with 6.5 points in his kitty. Subramanian recorded seven straight wins in the competition as he defeated Kunal Manglani, Ayush Ramteke, Pramod Ramteke, Aditya Bodhke, Priyanshu, Arush Chitre and Shraddha Bajaj. In the eighth round, Subramanian was shocked by Himanshu Jethwani. But the eventual winner kept his cool in the last round and defeated Sumedh Ramteke to win the title.
 
Thirty-eight players took part in the competition. This tournament was conducted under the supervision of IA Swapnil Bansod, IA Pravin Pantawane and FA Umesh Panbude. FINAL STANDINGS (Top Ten) 1.
