TO ensure proper operation of freight trains in Jabalpur Division, West Central Railway inaugurated WAG 12 B Locomotive Engine recently. For proper operations of new loco engine, Chief Loco Inspector Mahesh Meena has given on-hand training to loco pilot, assistant loco pilot and mainly loco inspectors. WCR General Manager Shailendra Kumar Singh, Additional GM Shobhan Choudhary, Principal Chief Electric Engineer Dr R K Gupta, Chief Electric Loco Engineer, Surendra Yadav, Divisional Rail Manager, Sanjay Vishwas, Senior Divisional Electric Engineer, Rambadan Mishra, Senior Divisional Mechanical Engineer, N K Mishra carried out inspection of locomotive engine on Friday.
 
The locomotive is new to Indian Railways manufactured at Madhepur. Loco engine is of 12000 horse power with 180 tonnes weight with start of series at 60020. Type of loco bogie is of bow-bow type. Its length is 35 meters. Maximum speed is 100 kms per hour and could be increased upto 120 kmph. The loco engine is designed by ALSTOM Company. Equipped with 2 mr tanks with compressor capacity of 1000 lt that are capable of long hall load easy operations. The engine could be operated on 1/150 gradient with full load around 5400 tonne without backer at the speed of 60kmph. The Loco Cabin is completely air conditioned.
