RAIPUR,

On the occasion of International Yoga Day, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel practiced various yoga aasanas in the morning at his official residence. In his message to the people, the Chief Minister extended his greetings to the people on the occasion of International Yoga Day and appealed them to include yoga in their daily routine.

The Chief Minister said in his message that yoga is one of the very ancient traditions of India. He said we also know it as Ashtanga Yoga which includes aasanas like yama, niyama, aasana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharna, dhyana and samadhi are its eight parts. Asana is a combination of all these, but special emphasis is required on yama and niyama, only then the benefits of Ashtanga Yoga can be found in life. The Chief Minister urged one and all to make yoga a part of one’s life.

He called upon people to take some time out for them and follow yama, niyama, aasana and pranayama. It is significant that Yoga Day is celebrated every year on June 21 all over the world. In view of the COVID-19 pandemic this year, mass programs are not organised during the Sixth International Yoga Day. It is instead being celebrated on a digital platform this year.
