Country’s first 12000 horsepower locomotive WAG-12 manufactured by Madhepura Electric Loco Factory in Bihar was put into operation at Habibganj Railway Station on Wednesday. The locomotive reached platform no 5 of Habibganj Railway Station where Divisional Railway Manager (DRM) Uday Borwanker was also present. This locomotive is manufactured specially for goods train and it can run a train with general speed as 100 KMPH and maximum as 120 KMPH.

This locomotive includes 2MR tanks with capacity of 1000 litre high compressor. Series of this locomotive start from 60020. Cabin of this locomotive is crew-friendly, air-conditioned and this is very comfortable for loco pilots. It has centralised numatic panel and number of pipeline is minimum. It would be easy for loco pilot to find put the problem in pipeline.

This locomotive is more trustable as it has a master loco and a slave loco. In case of any problem in master loco, power of slave loco will be useful to run the train. There will be no need to change the locomotive. Design of this machine includes operation of everything from loco pilot cab and fault can be troubleshoot within cabin only.
