Cracking the whip against illicit trade of liquor, a joint team of crime branch and Madan Mahal police arrested one accused while another managed to fled from the spot. Police team raided a location acting on information that at Ranipur Mali Mohalla, two brothers, Sagar and Sangam Kori had illicit liquor for sale. According to police on Wednesday late night around 11.30 pm, one informer informed the Crime Branch about illicit liquor in Ranipur Mali Mohalla and two noted goons Sagar and Sangam selling the same.
 
Acting on the information, a joint team of Crime Branch and Madan Mahal police was constituted who raided the spot and found people purchasing liquor. Cops arrested one accused while the other manage to flee from the spot. The miscreant nabbed by the police revealed his identity as Sangam Kori (22), resident of Ranipur Mali Mohalla. Cops seized 42 quarters of foreign liquor and 270 quarters of country liquor. Cops also seized cash received from sale of liquor.
 
Brought to police station in course of interrogation, the accused confessed of his role in sale of illicit liquor with his brother Sagar. The accused told police that the liquor was being brought by his brother. Cops registered case under section 34(2), 36 of Excise Act and 109 of IPC. Search has been started to arrest the absconding accused. The police team comprised of SI Chokelal Patel, PSI Rajneesh Mishra, Hemraj, Shubham from Madan Mahal police station and Pramod Pandey, Dhanjaya, Vijay Shukla, Ramgopal, Rammilan, Khuman Singh, Premlal, Beerbal Kumar, Mohit from Crime Branch team.
