T-1324 tiger rescued, treated by Pench team

PENCH Tiger Reserve management successfully rescued and treated T-1324 tiger and has kept him under observation at Mukki treatment centre of Kanha Tiger Reserve on Saturday. Chief Conservator of Forest and Field Director of Pench Tiger Reserve Vikram Singh Parihar informed that on June 26, field staff found collared tiger T-1324 had sustained a grave wound on front side of his neck and minor injuries on other body parts.
 
Forest guards monitored activities of collared tiger throughout the night. On Saturday, a team of veterinarians tranquilised the injured tiger T-1324. In prima facie of investigation, it was found that the tiger had sustained injuries in a conflict with another tiger and his collar identification was removed. Principal Chief Conservator of Forest (Wildlife), Madhya Pradesh and APCCF (Wildlife) were informed about the condition of tiger. Under the direction of senior officers, the big cat was given primary treatment and his translocation was carried out at Mukki treatment centre of Kanha Tiger Reserve.
 
Condition of T-1324 tiger is stable undergoing treatment under the supervision of team of veterinarians and Circle Officer Karmajhiri. Tranquilisation was successfully carried out by Pench Tiger Reserve Veterinarian Dr Akhilesh Mishra, Wildlife Conservation Trust’s Dr Prashant Deshmukh under the supervision of Field Director Vikram Singh Parihar. Tiger translocation was successfully carried out by team comprising Deputy Director, M B Sirsaiyya, Assistant Conservator of Forest, Bharti Thakre, Circle Officer, Karmajhiri, Ashish Khobragade, Circle Assistant, Karikatta, Turiya, Khawasa.
