180 more migrants airlifted to Raipur

As many as 180 migrant workers stranded in Bengaluru were airlifted to capital Raipur by a relief flight arranged by the alumni network of the Bengaluru-based National Law School (NLS) on Friday. On Thursday also, another batch of 179 migrant workers stranded in Bengaluru had returned to Raipur in a similar way. The relief special aircraft number 6E-9405 departed from Bengaluru and landed at Swami Vivekananda Airport, Raipur at 12:50 pm. After thorough medical examination of all the workers, they were send to various Quarantine centres in their respective districts.
 
This whole mission is an initiative of Nalasar Hyderabad, National Law University Bengaluru, Samarth Charitable Trust of Chhattisgarh and We The People Institute. Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has expressed his gratitude towards the alumni for this noble cause and also informed about the arrangements made by Chhattisgarh government to further assist these migrant workers. “A great initiative by alumni of Bangalore and Hyderabad Law University, as migrant laborers reached Raipur by special aircraft. We are grateful for this cooperation and we are making arrangements to take everyone to the Quarantine Centre in their home districts.”
