Traders should follow guidelines of NMC: Mane

An urgenT meeting of traders was convened by Satyawan Mane, Senior Police Inspector Sakkardara to explain the new notification regarding opening of shops. Also present on the occasion were Sneha Kapre, Assistant Commissioner NMC and Head of Nehru Nagar Zone; Sushma Mane, Assistant Commissioner NMC and Head Hanuman Nagar Zone, Ravindra (Chhotu) Bhoyar, Senior Corporator, Narendra Satija, Convenor of Sakkardara Vyapari Association, Sattar Khan Pathan, businessman and social worker, Satish Choudhary, President of Sakkardara Vyapari Association and others.
 
PI Mane explained traders about the timing i.e. from 9 am to 5 pm wherein they have to follow physical distancing. “Don’t allow us to forcefully close your shop. For the sake of small profit, you may have to pay a heavy fine,” Mane said. He said, shopkeepers who violate the norms and face two challans, it will be considered as criminal offence. The offence will be registered under IPC Section 188 or COVID-19 Act. “Traders should co-operate and handle the situation responsibility,” Mane said. Sneha Karpe explained the norms of odd and even and for opening the shops.
 
“Even shopkeepers of non essential goods can decided themselves on which day a particular line will open and close. Even, NMC will tell the shopkeepers about the odd and even days. For further clearance, traders should approach Nehru Nagar Zone or call Nathuji Khandekar, NMC Officer on 8446796579,” she said. Sushma Mane explained the norms regarding the number of staff and customers to be present at a particular time.
 
“No shopkeepers should not occupy the space outside the store for putting stand, hanging etc. Not more than 10 staff members are allowed at the shop. Only 10 per cent of the staff is allowed depending upon the size of the store. No customer should be allowed without wearing a mask,” she said. Sunil Sardar, Head Constable made the opening remarks and proposed vote of thanks. Aslam Khan Pathan, President Hardik Chillar Dukandar Sanghatna, Dharmendra Zade, Sanjay Shinde, Bablu Choudhary, Prashant Sukhsande and others were present in large number.
