Bharatiya Janata Party National Vice-President Dr Raman Singh while taking a dig at State Government on laxity on its part towards prevention and control of Novel Coronavirus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV-2) pandemic, alleged that quarantine centres established for migrant labourers have been left on the mercy of village sarpanch. Alleging that Chhattisgarh is the only state where people quarantined at quarantine centres are dying, the former Chief Minister said that despite funds allocated by Centre, quarantine centres here are in total disarray.
 
Due to lack of vision and delay in taking decisions, cases of COVID-19 infection are gradually increasing in State. Dr Singh, who was in Bilaspur under the public contact programme, said while interacting with media persons that this public contact programme has been initiated to mark the occasion of one year completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA government in its second term.
 
Under the public contact programme, every party office-bearer and party worker will carry out public contact exercise in 25 houses each and handover letter of Prime Minister which he had addressed in the name of people along with information about the achievements and works undertaken by the NDA government in last one year. Dr Singh said that what couldn’t be achieved in this country in last 70 years was achieved in just one year by the Prime Minister Modi led NDA government.
 
Whether it is abrogation of Article 370 and 35A or the issue of Teen Talaq or Citizenship Amendment Act and resolving Ramjanmabhumi issue, these are the steps which only PM Modi-led government can take. Dr Singh said that under the Pradhan Mantri Samman Nidhi Rs 72,000 crore was transferred into the accounts of 9 crore farmers. Under Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Yojana a package of Rs 1.70 lakh crore has been announced by the NDA Government. Also to strengthen the economic condition of country another mega financial package of Rs 20 lakh crore was announced by Centre.
 
Later Dr Raman Singh visited Tifra bus stand area and distributed relief materials to the people. He also visited Hirri, Chantidih and Sindhi colony under public contact programme and handed over the PM’s letter and NDA government’s achievement booklet to people. While maintaining social distancing norms interacted with them about the last one year tenure of the PM Modi-led NDA Government and administered oath for their contribution by using Swadeshi goods under the Atmanirbhar Bharat campaign. Dr Singh was accompanied by Leader of Opposition Dharamlal Kaushik, Bilaspur MP Arun Sao, Punnulal Mohle, Amar Agrawal, Dr Krishnamurty Bandhi, Rajnish Singh, Bilaspur District President Ramdev Kumawat and others.
