Mayan Rahul Agrawal, a student of Class 12th of Jain International School has designed a low-cost automatic sanitiser dispenser, which can be installed easily in offices and public places for hand sanitation. He has already supplied it to Commissioner of Police Dr Bhushan Kumar Upadhyay, Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Munde and some city-based doctors for trial who appreciated the creativity of the student. The gadget works with minimal electronic components.

Mayan says only a few components are needed to make the sensor-fitted device, which can dispense the sanitiser without touching. Mayan had designed a height sensor when he was in Class 8. He is fond of making electrical toys and other equipment from the beginning. But, due to study he shelved his hobby thereafter. Amid this lockdown, Mayan’s grandfather encouraged him to work on his hobby and design something useful. Mayan decided to make a touch-free sensor enabled sanitiser dispenser with the help of his savings. “It took 10-15 days to design the gadget but now I can make it in just three hours,” said Mayan while talking to The Hitavada.

He made 25 units of this gadget and distributed at different Government offices and friends free of cost. “Serving the society is the motive behind preparing this gadget. I am happy that I am serving the society with the help of my hobby,” said Mayan. The gadget can store 600 ml sanitise and after plugging it anyone can just have to bring his hands under the nozzle which release sanitiser automatically. The dispenser is made up of a 6 volt DC Motor, IR Sensors, Transistor, some wires, couple of LED lights, and a container.
