District Administration on Monday late evening carried out a flag march to make people aware about preventive measures of Covid-19. District Collector Dr S Bharathi Dasan, SSP Ajay Yadav, Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC) Commissioner Sourabh Kumar, Additional District Magistrate Vinit Nandanwar and officials of district administration and police department participated in the flag march which sent the message among people about social distancing, significance of wearing face masks and using hand sanitiser.
 
The district collector and other officials also carried out surprise inspection of shops during the flag march and asked the consumers and shopkeepers, who did not wear masks, to follow the Covid-19 guidelines strictly and wear masks. They also reached Telibandha pond where many people were most of the people were found wearing masks.
 
The officials also inspected shops here and asked the consumers present on the occasion and the shop owners to wear masks. The District Collector said that the shopkeepers can play a pivotal role towards making people aware about masks by not selling goods to those coming without masks. It is to be mentioned, district administration had held a meeting with traders community on Monday regarding the change of closing time of the markets in the RMC limits. It was decided to close the shops at 7 pm instead of 9 pm.
