EXPRESSING displeasure and ire over the indifferent attitude of Jabalpur Municipal Corporation (JMC) administration towards fulfilling their long pending demands, a number of employees and Union leaders staged massive protest at JMC headquarters. They submitted memorandum to senior officials and also warned to go on strike if their demands are not fulfilled within a week. In the memorandum, Union leaders said that the civic body is not increasing salaries of employees. Likewise, it has stopped payment of medical advance to the employees.
 
They said that the act is causing great inconvenience to the employees. Similarly, Union leaders said as many as 38 employees including officials got retired from services on June 30 last. But, till the date the employees have not been given any after retirement benefits.They said that JMC is also not providing the arrears of 7th pay scale.
 
Union leaders said other municipal corporations of the State have already paid all three installments to its employees. Likewise, they said the JMC is removing outsource employees due to weak financial condition. They said the act is proving dear to such employees during corona crisis. Union leaders have demanded JMC administration to atleast continue the services of these employees on half salary.
