Nagpur’s Ojas, Aadya, Vinil top CBSE Class X in Vid

Boys outshine girls among top three
 
 
Unlike every year, this year boys outshone girls by acquiring top slot in Class X examinations conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). Two students among the top three are from Bhavan’s Bharatiya Vidya Mandir, Trimurty Nagar while the only girl, who stood second, is from Modern School, Koradi Road. The two students of Bhavans, Trimurty Nagar are Ojas Khamele and Vinil Mokhade. The girl student is Aadya Pande from Modern School, Koradi Road. Ojas with the score of 99.4% topped CBSE Class X from Vidarbha. He is an overall topper too. Aadya Pande, student of Modern School, Koradi Road, scored 99.2 per cent marks and secured second position. Vinil Mokhade scored 99 per cent marks and stood third. Ojas and Vinil both have earned their names in sports too. Ojas is a fantastic player of Chess while Vinil plays Badminton.
 
The Chennai region of which Nagpur is one part maintained its performance like last year. It had secured second spot at national-level with the score of 99 per cent in 2019. This year, there is a reduction in its score (98.95%) but did not lose second spot. In comparison to last year, the number of schools and number of examination centres in the country that faced Class X examinations have increased. In 2019, there were 19,298 schools and 4,974 centres.
 
In 2020 the number of schools increased to 20,387 and examination centres to 5,377. Unlike CBSE Class XII, there is an increase in appearance of number of students this year than last year and pass per centage has improved by 0.36 per cent. Last year 17,61,078 students appeared while this year the number went up to 18,73,015. If one compares the number of students passed last year and the number this year then there is also an increase of 0.36 per cent. Last year 16,04,428 students passed while this year 17,13,121 students are declared successful. Last year 91.10 per cent students cleared the examination.
 
This year the pass % is 91.46. Girls have not only improved their performance as compared to last year but also outshone boys. Boys have maintained their performance, if one have a look at the gender-wise pass per centage statistics. In the year 2019 girls’ pass per centage was 92.45 while this year their pass per centage has improved to 93.31. Boys’ pass percentage remained the same. The pass percentage of boys in 2019 was 90.14 which is maintained this year.
