Result dominated by girls but boy grabs top slot
Vidarbha region showed a mixed performance in HSC results declared on Thursday. The examination was conducted by Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education. Nagpur improved its result by jumping from 9th to 5th spot in State by scoring a solid 91.65 per cent which is better than what the division secured last year --82.51. Amravati divisional board went down by a number than the previous year. In 2019 Amravati had improved its result as it rose to 3rd spot in State from 6th. This year, Amravati division registered a score of 92.09 and secured 4th spot in State. The total pass percentage of State is 90.66% an improvement of 4%.

Konkan topped amongst all divisions with 93.23% in 2019. This year, pass percentage of Konkan is 95.89. Girls have outperformed boys this year also by scoring 93.88% while boys’ score is 88.04%. Chaitanya Iyer of Dr Ambedkar College, Deekshabhoomi with 99.2 is probable City and Vidarbha topper. He is also said to be among top three in State. He is overall topper in Nagpur. Ayushi Navgaje of Adarsh Vidya Mandir topped Commerce with 96.15%; Gunjan Saha and Yasha Dashottar of Adarsh Vidya Mandir with 96% stood joint second topper. Vaibhavi Kohale of LAD College topped Arts with 94.5% In Nagpur division, Gondia topped table of pass per centage among all six districts viz Nagpur, Wardha, Chandrapur, Gadchiroli, Bhandara, Gondia. Gondia scored 94.13%.
Bhandara secured second position with 93.58. Nagpur came third with 92.53%. Chandrapur stood fourth with the score of 92.53%. Gadchiroli and Wardha scored 88.64% and 87.40 respectively, informed Ravikant Deshpande, Divisional Chairman of Nagpur Divisional Board. Ravikant Deshpande informed, “The examination was conducted between February 18 and March 18, 2020. In Nagpur division a total of 1,57,811 students got registered. Out of those students, 1,56,877 students appeared. 1,43,772 students passed. The pass percentage is 91.65. Result of Nagpur division has improved by 9.14% than its score of last year.” “10,794 students have registered themselves as repeaters. A total of 10,767 students appeared. Out of the total appeared, 4,624 students passed.
The pass percentage of the repeater is 42.95 (In 2019 it was 22.49% and in 2018 it was 33.51%). Gadchiroli and Nagpur topped the table in the number of cases of act of copying with 44 and 43 respectively. Barcode was used for all the subjects. During examination period vigilant squads, flying squads were active. The copy-free campaign got good support from students, parents and society. Examination admit cards were provided on-line,” pointed out Deshpande. Students willing to go for retotaling and photocopies of answersheets will have to apply on-line.
The required application is available on http://verification.mh-hsc.ac.in. The Board has made arrangement to make available photocopy of answersheet if demanded by students. For retotaling students have to apply on-line with self-attested copy between July 17 and 27 and for answersheet photocopy application to be submitted between July 17 and August 5 by depositing required fees.
For revaluation of the answersheets, the students have to submit the photocopy of answersheets to be taken out from Board’s website. Students have to utilise the five working days of the Board office and submit application on-line. The interested candidates who want to do reevaluations should contact Divisional Board office for further details. The Board had started Class Improvement Scheme in the year 2008. This scheme was started with a purpose to give students a chance to improve their grades. Students who appeared in Summer-2020 will have two chances.
