NAGPUR District Hardcourt Tennis Association (NDHTA) felicitated Supriya Chatterjee, ITF White Badge Umpire, for being appointed as National Female Ambassador by International Tennis Federation. NDHTA officials Kumar Kale, Ashok Bhiwapurkar, Dr Sudhir Bhiwapurkar, Vikram Naidu and Murli Asudani were present at the function. Guests of Honour were Dr Parinita Fuke (Corporator) and Piyush Ambulkar (Sports Officer, NMC). Supriya was introduced by Dr Darshan Dakshindas who outlined her achievements in tennis officiating. Vijay Naidu, Treasurer, NDHTA, conducted the programme. The small ceremony was also broadcast on JioMeet following COVID-19 protocol.
 
Appreciating Supriya for her achievements, Kale mentioned that parents should be given due credit. He applauded Santosh Chatterjee and Dolly Chatterjee, parents of Supriya, for their sacrifice and their motivation which resulted in appointment of Supriya as National Female Ambassador by ITF. Dr Sudhir Bhiwapurkar, who is also the Treasurer of MSLTA, assured full support on behalf of the state body to Supriya as she will now have a huge role in motivating young female umpires to join the sport and take it to new heights.
 
Dr Parinita Fuke complimented Supriya and her parents for the honour that she has received from ITF. In her acceptance speech, Supriya thanked everyone present for encouragement and supporting her in the journey as a tennis official. Supriya expressed her thanks to NDHTA and MSLTA for recognising her achievement. A specially made citation was handed over to Supriya by the officials and the guests of honour. Vikram Naidu, Joint Secretary, NDHTA, proposed a formal vote of thanks.
