Nagpur registers 122 more COVID-19 cases; 132 recover

City witnesses three deaths 
 
Though coronavirus is not to be taken lightly according to several healthworkers, people should not feel panic about it. There is a reason for positive thinking -- it is the rising recovery rate. On Tuesday, Nagpur witnessed 122 coronavirus positive cases while 132 went home after they were declared fully recovered. Three people died of this dreaded virus taking the total to 40.
 
The cumulative number of coronavirus positive cases reached 3,181 while the recovered number reached 1,789. The rate of recovery of Nagpur reads 64.15%. Out of three deaths two occured at Indira Gandhi Government Medical College and Hospital (IGGMCH) and one at Government Medical College and Hospital. Two patients from IGGMCH expired on Wednesday include, a 54-year-old woman resident of Kamthee was admitted on July 21. She came with the complaint of systematic hypertension with diabetes mellitus with diabetic ketosis, pneumonia. Another 60-year-old woman resident of Baby colony, Kamptee also passed away on Wednesday.
 
A 75-year-old man, a resident of Dhantoli admitted in GMCH on July 20 with complaints of fever cough and breathlessness since 5 days. Maximum 42 samples came positive in Private laboratories , 29 were examined at virology laboratory of IGGMCH, 26 tested positive through Rapid Antigen Test while 16 came positive at the molecular diagnostic laboratory of All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
 
24 samples from Fire Deptt to be examined After Station Officer of Fire department of Nagpur Municipal Corporation found positive the health department of NMC swung into action. The office at lower floor has been sealed while the samples of 27 staffers of department has been sent for examination to virology laboratory. The report will be received by the department on Thursday.
 
 
Two test positive in Ramtek

With two testing positive for novel coronavirus in Ramtek town, the cumulative number reached 7 in Ramtek while in tahsil it reached 14. Chief Executive Officer Swaroop Kharge informed this Correspondent that Municipal Council had collected throat swabs of 79 persons including autorickshaw drivers and police officials. In Random testing 47-year-old autorickshaw driver and a 57-year-old Police Sub Inspector attached to Ramtek Police Station found positive.
 
This police official is the resident of Kamptee and used to shuttle between Kamptee and Ramtek. After receiving the information Sub Divisional Officer Jogendra Katyare, Tahsildar Balasaheb Maske, Medical Superintendent Prakash Ujgire and Police Inspector Dilip Thakur rushed to the venue. The patients were sent to IGGMCH. About 22 have been put under home quarantine while 6 close contacts have been admitted at Covid Care Centre, Ramtek.
