Kedar directs officials to solve problem of rehab of Bina, Bhanegaon villagers

WCL has acquired lands from the villages for mining purpose. The villagers are waiting for compensation for last nine years. An expenditure of Rs 207 cr is required for relocation of both the villages 
 
 
Sunil Kedar, Minister for Animal Husbandary and Dairy Development, gave instructions to solve the problem of pending rehabilitation of villagers from Bina in Kamptee taluka and Bhanegaon in Saoner taluka immediately and the Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) should provide basic amenities, make available employment opportunities and solve problem of land. Kedar was addressing a review meeting about rehabilitation of these two villages in Bachat Bhavan in the Collectorate here on Thursday.
 
Ravindra Thakre, Collector, Avinash Katde, Deputy Collector, Hema Badhe, Deputy Collectorator (Rehab), Aruna Shinde, Chairperson of Saoner Panchayat Samiti, Shyam Madnurkar, Sub-Divisional Officer, Kamptee, Atul Mehetre, SDO, Saoner, Arvind Hinge, Tehsildar, Kamptee, Satish Masal, Saoner Tehsildar, Sandip Paranjape of WCL, Diwakar Gokhale, Regional General Manager, WCL, and other officers were present in the meeting. The problem of Bina and Bhanegaon regarding rehabilitation has not been sorted out as per the Government decision. WCL has acquired land from the villagers for mining purpose. The villagers are waiting for compensation for the last nine years.
 
An expenditure of Rs 207 crore is expected for relocation of both the villages. It is the responsibility of WCL to rehabilitate the villagers immediately, Kedar added. Meanwhile, the minister asked the officers concerned to rehabilitate Kochhi village affected by Kanhan river project (Kochhi barrage) to new place. For the purpose of rehabilitation 771 plots have been fixed and the officers should allot them to the project affected persons. The Collector should submit a proposal for cancelling charges of the people. Moreover, the villages at flood control line should be immediately shifted by providing basic amenities. Kedar said that the families on zudpi jungle should be given compensation.
