Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba held a meeting with the States and Union Territories (UTs) through video conferencing to review the COVID-19 conditions and preparedness. Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Department, Government of Chhattisgarh Niharika Barik Singh and Secretary of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Dr Kamalpreet Singh participated in the meeting.
Cabinet Secretary Rajiv Gauba has directed all states to strictly follow the guidelines of Union Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) for containment of COVID-19 pandemic. All the states have been asked to take all measures for prevention, containment and management of COVID-19 pandemic. Niharika Barik Singh informed the Cabinet Secretary that most corona cases are being reported from six districts of Chhattisgarh. The Chhattisgarh Health Secretary has requested the Cabinet Secretary to provide TrueNat based testing labs for COVID-19 at private hospitals of the state that will be helpful to trace more corona cases in the state. On Chhattisgarh’s demand, Cabinet Secretary Gauba has directed the Director General of Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) to take quick action over it. Cabinet Secretary Gauba reviewed available health facilities like ICU beds and ventilators in the state.
