Points towards agenda of meeting of board of directors regarding appointment of Mundhe as one of the members
Mayor Sandip Joshi again put a question mark on Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe’s functioning as Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Nagpur Smart and Sustainable City Development Corporation Limited (NSSCDCL) since latter is yet to be appointed as Director on company's Board. Referring to agenda circulated for 10th meeting of Board of Directors of NSSCDCL is about discussion, sanction and appointment of newly-appointed Municipal Commissioner as one of the members of the company Board, Mayor said adding that it proves our point that Mundhe is functioning in illegal manner as CEO.

“All the allegations against Mundhe are now proven true as going by agenda it’s clear Municipal Commissioner is not yet inducted as Director so how can former declare himself as CEO. Now it is for Municipal Commissioner to explain how the payment of Rs 20 crore was released to two contractors from funds of NSSCDCL,’ said Joshi while addressing a media conference at his chamber at NMC's Central office, Civil Lines, on Friday.

Joshi added that another matter listed on agenda is about discussion, sanction and appointment of new CEO of NSSCDCL. This means though Mundhe was not CEO he terminated contracts of 15 to 20 officers and employees of NSSCDCL although their appointment was made by Board of Directors. Joshi said that the matter about illegal payment and sacking of employees would figure in course of the meeting. The issue of issuing letter to Bank of Maharashtra and posing as CEO to get power to sign on cheques has also come-up before BoD.

“Accepted that Mundhe might be made CEO, but what was the tearing hurry for former to unilaterally proclaim himself as one,” said Joshi further while seeking to know the intentions behind it. Mayor again alleged that Mundhe mislead Bank of Maharashtra about his appointment as CEO, moreover cancellation of approved tenders was totally illegal.

The decisions about stoppage of last instalment to project-affected persons in Smart City area are also wrong and blatantly illegal. Joshi furthers said post resignation of CEO the additional charge is handed over to Deputy CEO and had same been done then no controversy would have emerged. Further a CEO is a full time job as per Companies Act and the person cannot be in another job at the same time and now it is for Mundhe to provide answers to people of Nagpur, Joshi said.
