Follow all protocols while referring Covid-19 patient, directs Collector

All the protocols must be followed by the private clinics, nursing homes and hospitals before referring any Covid-19 patient, said Collector Avinash Lavania on Wednesday. The collector made the above statement while reviewing the Health Department meeting at the collectorate.
He said that the permission of the patient’s family must be sought before shifting or referring the patient. Both hospitals should establish coordination while referring the patients and that the action should be taken only after assessing the critical condition of the patient, Lavania added.
He further said that the hospital management should also ensure that the ambulance has all necessary equipments and that medical staff should remain present while ferrying the patient. Notably, the above instructions were issued after a sensation incident in which dead body of a Covid-19 patient lied unclaimed for hours outside a private hospital in Bhopal.
