Collector Dr S Bharathi Dasan and District Panchayat CEO Dr Gaurav Kumar Singh on Friday inspected the gothans of villages Parsada, Tekari, Palod and Kolar of Abhanpur Development Block and took stock of the dung procurement under State’s flagship scheme Narva, Garva, Ghurwa and Badi.
In the course of the inspection, Collector directed for expansion of feeder area of Gothans at Parsada and Tekari. He said that women of self-help groups and Gothan committee are to procure the dung, which is gonna give them sufficient earnings.
Besides, the organic manure produced at the gothans will preserve and enhance the fertility of the soil. The villagers must bring their cattle to the gothans and sell the dung here. It will encourage the conservation of livestock. There should be sufficient fodder for the animals and any recklessness to this end will not be tolerated.
They must conduct according to the action plan of the Administration. He also asked for making sufficient space for the collection of dung, which should be kept preserved until the manufacturing of vermicompost and encourage people to use it. CEO Dr Gaurav Kumar Singh said everyone should be inspired to use the vermicompost manufactured at gothans. This will give income to the women and become a source of income for the gothans.
