‘Vasundhara Samman’ to eminent journalist E V Murli

Distinguished journalist and Resident Editor of The Hitavada E V Murli will be conferred with the prestigious ‘Vasundhara Samman’ established in memory of Devi Prasad Chaubey and given for public awakening. This decision has been taken by a six-member jury headed by eminent journalist Ramesh Nayyar. On August 14, the ‘20th Vasundhara Samman’ will be conferred to E V Murli on the occasion of 44th death anniversary of Devi Prasad Chaubey.
The jury comprised former Editor of Navbharat and Media Advisor to the Chief Minister Ruchir Garg, Former State Election Commissioner Dr Sushil Trivedi, eminent litterateur Girish Pankaj, Educationist Dr Raksha Singh and Social activist and Banker Arun Kumar Srivastava. Giving the above information Ramesh Nayyar, Convenor Vinod Mishra and Chairman of Organising Committee, Arun Kumar Srivastava said that no public function is being organised following the current COVID crisis and the guidelines of the Government. It needs a mention that E V Murli a Post Graduate in English Literature has been in the field of journalism for more than 25 years.
Making a beginning in Journalism from the steel city of Bhilai, he learned the nuances of journalism and rose to become the Resident Editor of The Hitavada in Raipur. He was also associated in the past with English newspapers like Free Press Journal and Lokmat Times. E V Murli was also awarded with the Madhukar Kher Journalism Award by the Government of Chhattisgarh for his outstanding contribution to journalism.
