Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) resumed ODF inspection on Tuesday. BMC Commissioner KVS Chaudhary along with other officials inspected ODF at Bairagarh, BCLL bus depot, Polytehcnic Chauraha, Sjhyamala Hills, Ravindra Bhavan, Birla Mandir, Ganesh Nagar, Misrod, Jatkhedi, etc. Directions have been issued to warn people against defecating in open.
 
Since lockdown all these monitoring activities were suspended by BMC and now inspection is being resumed to check and monitor ODF status as preparation for Swachhta Survekshan 2021 ODF double plus certification. ‘Swachh Survkeshan’ will focus on grey water and black water management. Main emphasis is given on GPS monitoring of garbage picking vehicles. BMC has deployed 600 employees and 400 vehicles for cleanliness of sewage and garbage collection prior to COVID lockdown.
 
Swachh Survekshan key focus areas includes collect segregate waste and maintain till processing site, utilise capacity of wet processing facilities, treat and re-use waste water, curtain solid waste based air pollution, follow three principles including Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, uplift social condition of informal waste pickers, promote procurement through GeM, engage technology-driven monitoring.
