BMC’s anti-encroachment drive continues in containment areas

Anti-encroachment drive was carried out by Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) squad in various areas including containment areas like Imami Gate, Kolar Tiraha, Government Press, Peergate, Royal Market. On Tuesday acting on complaints received from CM helpline handcarts were removed from Azad Market. Around 5 handcarts were removed during the drive and shops encroachment in pavements, street carts were removed from Ashoka Garden area.
 
Encroachments were also removed from Apsara Talkies area and one street cart was seized. Around 7 hand carts from 100 quarters are and hanuman mandir area was also seized during the drive. In Kotra area behind Akrirti Garden two JCB machies were also seized engaged in illegal construction over sewage. Two Sanchi Parlours encroached in Transport Nagar area were also seized. In Lal Ghati Bairagarh area few handcarts were seized by BMC anti-encroachment squad. BMC anti-encroachment squad is also clearing up sewer lines by removing encroachments. It is being observed that due to the encroachment the green belt area also gets occupied and this is also resulting in water logging affecting the nearby locals.
 
Moreover, the construction activities out even on the sewer line also being obstructed resulting in water logging from the sewage. BMC carries out sanitisation with sprinklers in narrow lanes Inspite of rains BMC sanitation squad carried out spraying using sprinklers for sanitisation especially in areas, where tankers cannot be reached to the areas which has narrow roads like colonies including kolar suburbs and old city areas like Shahjehanbad, Jehangirabad, Jatkehi. Bhopal Municipal Corporation (BMC) has launched drive to sanitise colonies and roads in different areas in the wake of COVID-19. BMC administration has decided to provide facilities on demand for sanitisation is offices and institutions of public for maintaining hygiene.
