‘Phy Edu directors must focus on research activities’

“Physical education directors of colleges, universities should concentrate on research activities,” said Dr Madhvi Mardikar, resource person of the three-day online national webinar on Performance Based Appraisal System — Academy Performance Index (PBAS-API) for College Directors of Physical Education and Sports on Wednesday. She was speaking on the second day of the event.
 
The three-day event has been jointly organised by Post Graduate Teachers Department (PGTD) of Physical Education, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU), Institute of Science and JM Patel Arts, Commerce and Science College, Bhandara in collaboration with MB Patel College, Sakoli, NMD College, Gondia and Tai Golwalkar Mahavidyalaya, Ramtek. Dr Mardikar delivered lecture regarding category-III Research and Academic contributions and comparison of 1st, 4th, & 7th pay GRs. The second session was conducted by Dr Romi Bisht, Director of Physical Education, JM Patel Arts, Commerce and Science College, Bhandara. She delivered her lecture regarding Publication Ethics & UGC CARE list.
 
Earlier, the second day’s session was inaugurated by chief guest Anita Lokhande Tapre, Director of Physical Education, Gondwana University, Gadchiroli. She addressed the drawback of college directors of physical education and said that they are in behind documentation.
 
Dr Tanuja Raut, Head, PGTD of Physical Education, SGB Amravati University and Dr Sanjay Chaudhary, Ex-coordinator, PGTD of Physical Education, RTMNU were the guests of honour. Dr Raut addressed the session regarding the time period of the college director of physical education and said it should be included in college time table. Dr Chaudhary highlighted the importance about e-content and UGC care list journals which should be known to everyone. The welcome speech was delivered by Dr Haresh Trivedi, Principal, MB Patel of Arts, Commerce and Science, Sakoli. Dr Pravin Kumar, Dr Chandramohan Singh, Dr Aruna Dogra, Dr Bharti Kale, Dr Rajni Murkute and Dr Kartik Pannikar worked hard for the success.
