Make Bhopal free from child labour: Lavania

For all-round development of children and to provide them better education, Bhopal should be made free from child labour, said Collector Avinash Lavania on Thursday. The Collector gave the above directions while addressing a meeting of District Task Force held at the Collectorate under Child and Adolescent Labour (Prohibition and Regulation) Act, 1986. Departmental officers and representatives of different social organisations were present in the meeting.
 
In the meeting, the Collector reviewed the ways to keep the children away from labour amid the present circumstances created due to COVID-19 pandemic. He said that child labour is a serious crime and strict action should be taken against the persons concerned under the Child Labour Rights Act. Assistant Labour Commissioner P Jasmine Ali informed about all the work being done by the committee and by the Labour Department. She also briefed the works being done by the District Task Force to eliminate child labour in present circumstances. The members expressed that there is a possibility that children might have get involved in various activities owing to the hard time given by the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
The Assistant Labour Commissioner also showed everyone the posters she had made for the upcoming campaign. Collector Avinash Lavania released these posters and also appreciated the efforts of Labour Department and also asked the officials to paste these posters at all district offices and at public places too.
