Scribes have shown creative direction to society with their thoughts, writings: CM

‘The Hitavada’ Raipur Resident Editor E V Murli was honoured with ‘Vasundhara Samman’ for his distinguished works in public awareness in a ceremony held at Chief Minister’s House in the state capital on the occasion of 44th death anniversary of Devi Prasad Choubey, on Friday.
Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, who was the chief guest at the programme, presented the award instituted in memory of Late Devi Prasad Choubey to EV Murli. Chief Minister Baghel honoured EV Murli with shawl, shrifal and citation. Culture Minister Amarjeet Bhagat presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Baghel threw light on the work and personality of Late Devi Prasad Chaubey and said that Devi Prasad Choubey was truly a man of the people. Chief Minister Baghel said that journalists have done several remarkable work for the society and the country and given creative direction to the society with their ideas, thoughts and writings. There are many laws to regulate print and electronic media but there is no law to regulate social media.
Baghel cautioned that new generation is being confused through social media and so there is a need to think seriously over the use of social media and historical facts should not get tampered. If someone makes history, it is a good thing but anyone tries to change history that is misfortune. Chief Minister Baghel also released the 49th edition of magazine ‘Vasundhara’.
In his presidential address, Culture Minister Amarjit Bhagat said that the late Devi Prasad Choubey had spread the ideology of Mahatma Gandhi to the villages. In his address, Chairman of the Jury of the selection Committee for Vasundhara Samman and senior journalist Ramesh Nayyar and The Hitavada Resident Editor E V Murli also spoke on the occasion. The programme was attended by several dignitaries.
