Bhopal went into a lockdown again on Sunday to contain the spread of coronavirus which has claimed more than 200 lives in the State capital as of now. Since the number of Covid-19 cases are increasing, as per the orders of the administration a complete lockdown is being enforced here in Bhopal every Sunday, and is being implemented strictly. The State capital observed a lockdown to confine citizens at home and to restrict their activities and movements.

Additional police were deployed in the city to ensure the lockdown is strictly observed. Those roaming unnecessarily were either sent back home with a warning or the cops slapped a fine on some of them. The police also sealed the inter-state borders to prevent public movement from neighbouring districts. Only ambulances and vehicles on essential duty were allowed to ply during the curfew period. Shops selling medicines, groceries, vegetables, fruits, and poultry and meat were allowed to open, ensuring customers maintain physical distancing and stand in queues.
