Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that Madhya Pradesh has done excellent work for welfare of street vendors in a very short time. Other States can take inspiration from this work done under the PM Swanidhi Yojana. PM was addressing Swanidhi Samvad through video-conferencing which was heard at nearly 345 places in Madhya Pradesh. PM declared that another scheme is also being considered for the welfare of street vendors which will be started soon.
He also called upon small traders to expand their business manifold through digital transaction. PM Modi congratulated Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan for the good work done during lockdown and achievements of Madhya Pradesh.
PM said that hats off for the success of PM Swanidhi Yojana in Madhya Pradesh which is a reflection of the strength of labour. The work of giving identity cards and other benefits to more than one lakh street vendors of Madhya Pradesh is commendable. This relief provided to the poor has proved to be a boon at the time of the pandemic. PM Narendra Modi added that planned efforts will continue for the welfare of poor. Efforts have been made to provide financial assistance to poor by removing them from the clutches of moneylenders. Earlier, poor would not even go to the banks for fear of paperwork.
