Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan visited Morena on Saturday. He said that a medical college will be opened in Morena, while best modern medical facilities will be made available in the entire district.
Chouhan said that approval in-principle has been given to Chambal Atal Progress-Way project costing Rs 8,500 crore for all-round development of Chambal region. Atal Progress-Way will not just be a road, it will have an industrial corridor on either side through which thousands of youth will get employment. He said that with efforts of Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar, Sainik School will be opened on Bhind and Morena districts border. He added that Chambal project worth Rs 135 crore will be given final shape for drinking water supply in Morena city. Along with this announcement, he also announced construction of a magnificent auditorium in the name of former Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee in Morena city and opening of a college at Rithoura in Morena district.
On the occasion, Union Minister of Agriculture, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development, Narendra Singh Tomar and Rajya Sabha MP Jyotiraditya Scindia dedicated and performed bhoomipujan of 27 development works costing Rs 268.59 crore for development of Morena.
