Clearing all the doubts about university examinations, Higher and Technical Education Minister Uday Samant has asked all the universities to complete the examination process by November end. Most universities in the State have prepared their timetable for the examinations according to which same are to be conducted in October. Minister has asked the universities to hold supplementary examinations within a span of one to one and a half months of main examinations.

He insisted on declaring the results of supplementary examinations within 15 days so that students would not lose year. Samant was speaking during his visit to Kavikulguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU), Ramtek. Earlier he had planned to convene meeting with KKSU officials at Jamnalal Bajaj Administrative Building of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU). Later on he changed his programme and reached Ramtek to see the premises. Samant was on two-days visit to the universities in Vidarbha. During his tour, Samant visited Gondwana University, Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, KKSU and Sant Gadge Baba Amravati University.

There is lot of confusions among the minds of students regarding allowing them to re-appear for off-line in case they fail to deliver. Samant cleared those doubts and said, “Those failing in on-line multiple choice based examination, would get another chance to appear offline. Universities have prepared the timetables for the final semester examinations according to which those would end by October 20 at the most.” Vice Chancellor Prof Shrinivasa Varakhedi has agreed to take responsibility of taking the complete responsibility of Kalidas Smarak if the Municipal Council of Ramtek moves the proposal to handover this historic monument to KKSU. MLA Ashish Jaiswal has moved the proposal before Samant.

Earlier Samant had interacted with university officials including Vice Chancellor Prof Shrinivasa Varakhedi, Registrar Prof Vijay Kumar, Finance and Accounts Officer Dr Ramchandra Joshi, Director of University Development Planning Board Dr Prasad Gokhale, Ramtek premises Director Prof Kavita Hole, Joint Director, Hither Education Dr Mahesh Salunke and others.
