COVID IMPACT: People’s University celebrates Teachers’ Day virtually

PEOPLE’S University Bhopal celebrated Teachers’ Day in an innovative manner due to this pandemic where students from the 9 colleges of the university co-ordinated online and had set-up a virtual performance, to thank the teaching faculty for their contributions they make in the lives of Peoplites. Maintaining all the norms of social distancing and as per guidelines of UGC, a cultural extravaganza was organised where a screening of performances were shown to all the directors, trustees, head of the institutes and the faculties. Students virtually showcased musical and dance performances to appreciate the unwavering commitment of the teachers. Many people attended the event through facebook live.
 
Megha Vijaywargia, trustee and director of People’s Group was the chief guest. The programme began with the Saraswati Vandana. On this occasion, doctors from People’s College of Medical Science also gave some impromptu performances. Dr Anil Dixit, Dean of People’s College of Medical Science (PCMS), Dr V K Pandya, Director of Academics, Dr Kavitarati Dharwadkar, Head Department of Biochemistry, Dr CC Chaubal, Head, Department of Medicine gave some lovely surprise performances. Dr Subhash Girdharilal Bagde, Professor Anatomy of People’s Dental Academy and Dr S T Nagdeote, Professor Pulmonary Medicine PCMS, were felicitated on this occasion for their contribution in the growth and development of students and institutes. Group Trustee and Director Megha Vijaywargia, Registrar Dr Neerja Mallik and Director of Academics Dr V K Pandya presented them a memento and thanked them for their long and valuable services at People’s University. In the memory of late Dr Ajay Bhambal, former dean at People’s University, Registrar Dr Neerja Mallik announced an annual medal for the meritorious students of final year, Faculty of Dentistry.
 
NCC cadets of People’s University Nirmaya Lohar and Akash Sonar gave solo dance performances and left everyone delighted. While hosting the event Purvi Jain, reminded teachers of their school days when they as students were taught life skills by their mentors and presented vote of thanks. Chief Guest Megha Vijaywargia, Trustee and Director of People’s Group and Dr Rajesh Kapur Vice Chancellor of People’s University congratulated the teachers for inspiring and nurturing the students to march in the right direction. This was followed by a musical morning by professional artists and distribution of chocolate boxes organised by the management as a small token of appreciation for the rightly called ‘beacons of light.’
