Many people died after consuming spurious liquor in a village situated in Baghchini police station area of Morena district. Police have registered case against seven people who used to sell liquor illegally. Police said that as many as seven people have died in hooch tragedy but it is being said that casualty is around one dozen. When contacted, Bagchini police station told to ‘The Hitavada’ that as many as seven people have died after consuming spurious liquor in Manpur village.
The deceased include Dhruv, Jitendra, Dilip, Rajkumar, Sarman etc. “They consumed spurious liquor on January 10 and January 11,” said Head Constable of Bagchini Police Station talking to ‘The Hitavada’. Police filed case against seven accused, including Girraj Kirar, Raju Kirar, Pappu Pandit, Kalla Pandit, Rajveer and Pradeep. Police launched search to arrest the accused. Senior police officer are keeping close watch in investigation of hooch tragedy.
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said the incident is extremely sad and unfortunate. An inquiry has been ordered in the incident. Commissioner Gwalior-Chambal has formed an investigation team, which has started investigation. Former CM Kamal Nath said that after Ujjain hooch tragedy, now liquor Mafia took lives of around ten people in Morena.
