New and Renewable Energy Minister Hardeep Singh Dang has instructed officials to install rooftop solar panels in schools in State. He also directed to select one village and to develop it as a model village by making itself dependent through solar power. After the success of this work, scheme will be expanded across Madhya Pradesh. Dang said that Madhya Pradesh has emerged as pioneering State in solar energy field.
 
He said solar energy helps in saving traditional energy, is cheaper comparatively and benefits people living in remote areas. Dang was reviewing the activities of his department at Mantralaya on Monday. On this occasion, Principal Secretary New and Renewable Energy Department Sanjay Dubey, Managing Director Urja Vikas Nigam Deepak Saxena etc were also present in meeting. Dang instructed to complete under construction Solar Energy Park in time bound manner.
 
Dang instructed to complete Agar Malwa Shajapur Neemuch Solar Park of 1500 Megawatt by December 2022, Omkareshwar Floating Park of 600 Megawatt by July 2023, Chhattarpur Solar Park of 950 Megawatt by July 2023, Morena Solar Park of 1400 Megawatt by October 2023 respectively. He also asked to complete installation of 45,000 solar pump by July 2023. He informed that in a decade, there has been ten times progress in solar energy in State.
