The Chhattisgarh unit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) has unanimously elected state’s renowned Orthopedician and Traumatologist Dr Purnendu Saxena as it’s Chief, known as the Prant Sanghchalak in the organisational parlance. Dr Saxena, 54, was Sah Prant Sanghchalak, before taking over the baton from the outgoing Prant Sanghchalak Bisraram Yadav who desired to relieve after his three-year term expired.

 

The election process was completed in presence of Zila and Vibhag representatives across the state, informed Prant Prachar Pramukh Kaniram. The Sangh officials from centre, regional and state were also present at Jagriti Mandal, the state RSS head-quarters.

 

While Dr Purnendu Saxena was elected as the Prant Sanghchalak, the other elected RSS Working Committee Members for Chhattisgarh Prant are Chandrashekhar Dewangan has been appointed as Karyawah, Gopal Yadav and Toplal Verma as Sah Karyawah, Nanhi Das Diwan as Physical Training Head and Vishwas Jaltade as Assistant Physical Training Head, Ramesh Sharma as Baudhik Shiksha Pramukh, Ghanshyam Soni as Vyavastha Pramukh and Radheshyam Jalshatri as Sah Vyavastha Pramukh, Lomas Ram Sahu as Seva Pramukh and Anil Srivastava as Sah Seva Pramukh, Dhirendra Nashine as Sampark Pramukh, Kaniram Nandeshwar as Prachar Pramukh and Jagdish Patel as Sah Prachar Pramukh, Kishore Singh as Mahavidyalaya Chatra Karya Pramukh and Shanti Swarup Dwivedi as Sah Mahavidyalaya Chatra Karya Pramukh, Kaushalendra Pratap Singh as Samajik Sadbhav Sanyojak and Sudhir Gautam as Sah Samajik Sadbhav Sanyojak. Vishwanath Bogi has been elected as Samajik Samarsata Sanyojak and Kanti Kumar Soni as Sah Samajik Samarsata Sanyojak, Rajkumar Chandra as Dharmajagaran Pramukh and Omprakash Sharma as Sah Dharmajagaran Pramukh, Subhash Agrawal as Kutumb Prabodhan Sanyojak and Pradeep Soni as Sah Kutumb Prabodhan Sanyojak, Subodh Rathi as Gau Sanvardhan Sanyojak, Devendra Verma as Samagra Gram Vikas Sanyojak, Anil Kumar as Paryavaran Sanyojak, Abhay Ram as Janjati Karya Pramukh and Gopal Nag has been elected as Sah Janjati Karya Pramukh. RSS is one of the largest organisations in the world and it functions in a democratic way. After the foundation of RSS in 1925, the organisation was functioning smoothly without any constitution.

 

Dr Saxena’s association with the RSS dates back to childhood. Having completed his school and medical education in Raipur, he took up a job in the UK, first in the Newcastle region and then in the Royal Liverpool university region. After a stint of 8 years, Dr Saxena decided to render his service in his motherland and returned to India in 2004 and worked in Apollo Hospital, Bilaspur. One of the Directors of Raipur-based VY Hospital, Dr Saxena has specialized in fractures, dislocations, revision joint replacement hip, knee and shoulder surgery besides other medical services related to Orthopedic.
