‘Bank employees worked with responsibility during COVID-19’

THE 16th Triennial National Conference of the Union Bank Staff Association affiliated to National Organisation of Bank Workers (NOBW) was held on January 24, at Yadav Bhavan, Smruti Mandir, Dr Hedgewar Smarak Samiti, Reshimbagh Nagpur. The dignitaries paid tributes to the ‘Bank Warriors’ who died due to COVID-19 by lighting traditional lamp.
 
Ramnath Kini, In-charge of Banking Sector of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS), D Thammaiah, Deputy Regional Head of Union Bank of India, Amravati Region, Ashok Bhutad, Working President of BMS Vidarbha Pradesh, Chandrakant Khanzode, Zonal Organising Secretary of National Organisation of Bank Workers and former General Secretary of Union Bank Staff Association, Kishor Bapat, All India General Secretary of Union Bank Staff Association were the chief guests at the 16th Triennial National Conference, chaired by Sudin Sathe, President, Union Bank Staff Association.
 
“Under the challenging circumstances of COVID-19, the bank employee performed good social responsibility,” said D Thammaiah further saying that the contribution of the front line employee in the progress of the bank is commendable. He was speaking at the inaugural function of 16th Trianial All India Conference of Union Bank Staff Association.
D Thammaiah added in his speech that the hardworking members of NOBW have always contributed honestly towards the progress of the banks.
 
Ramnath Kini, said “The Finance Minister of India Nirmala Sitharaman told a delegation of Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh that pension upgradation in the banking sector would take place soon.”
 
“If work is decentralised, the quality of the workers can be easily developed. For that, the group of workers has to be large. As the number of members increases, so does the number of qualified members. If we have a cadre of heroic activists, no one will be able to stop the development of the organisation,” Kini said.
 
Chandrakant Khanzode, said that the future of the employees in the Union is bright as it has the qualities to put national interest first, then industrial interest and lastly union interest.
 
Ashok Bhutad, gave an energetic speech.
 
Vasantrao Pimpalapure, National General Secretary of Varishta Nagrik Parisangh, Ramesh Patil-Organising Secretary of BMS, Ram Telang, Treasurer of Vidarbh Pradesh BMS, Suresh Chaudhary, Organising Secretary of Vidarbha Bank Employees Federation, Arvind Bhumralkar, National President of State Bank Workers Organisation, Federation Nitin Borwankar, former General Secretary of Vidarbha Bank Employees and Ashok Junankar were present in the conference.
 
Vaibhav Kalyankar of Union Bank Staff Association conducted function while Kishor Bapat, National General Secretary made the introductory remarks. The vote of thanks was proposed by Sudin Sathe, President, Union Bank Staff Association. In the meeting, the new office-bearer and executives were announced.
