‘District admin, healthcare system worked hard to bring COVID-19 under control’

“Nagpur district has 1,30,000 Covid-19 positive patients. The condition in the district was pathetic during lockdown period from May to August. But during this period, district administration and healthcare system worked hard to bring coronavirus under control. From the initial stage to vaccination drive, the battle of Covid-19 was won by public, voluntary organisations, donors and administrative strength,’ said Nagpur District Guardian Minister, Dr Nitin Raut on Tuesday.
 
The main programme 72nd Republic Day was held at Kasturchand Park. Nagpur District Guardian Minister, unfurled the national tricolour. A recitation of preamble of constitution of India was held. ZP President, Rashmi Barve; Divisional Commissioner, Dr Sanjeev Kumar; Police Commissioner, Amitesh Kumar; Special Inspector General of Police, Chiranjiv Prasad; District Collector, Ravindra Thakare; NMC Commissioner, Radhakrishnan B; Nagpur Metropolitan Region Development Authority (NMRDA) Commissioner, Sheetal Teli Ugale; District Superintendent of Police, Rakesh Ola were also present on this occasion.
 
Dr Raut appreciated the disciplined planning of Divisional Commissioner’s Office in coronavirus pandemic. He said, “During COVID-19 lockdown, availability of beds, oxygen, remedisivir; availability of Covid centres etc was monitored and planned because of District Collector, Zilla Parishad, Deputy Director of Health, Food and Civil Supplies, Home Department etc. My Family My responsibility was successfully implemented and Government had provided the help of Rs 169 crore.”
 
Dr Raut gave away different awards. Divisional Commissioner Dr Sanjeev Kumar was felicitated for his excellent work during the pandemic. Shardaprasad Ramakant Mishra of Ambazari Police Station was felicitated with President’s medal; Meera Ramesh Satai from Katol and Pramila Naresh Badole from Hingana were felicitated with copper plate; District Health Officer, Dr Asim Inamdar; Hingana tehsil, Health Officer, Pravin Padwe; Manjusha Rupsingh Jadhav, Sagar nandkirhore Shriwas were also felicitated on this occasion.
 
The Covid Yoddha awards were given to Dr Sunil Mahakalkar (GMCH); Dr Dhiraj Sagarule (IGGMC); Dr D P Sengupta of RST Cancer Hospital; Deputy Collector, Ravindra Khajanchi, Deputy Collector, Avinash Katade; SDO, Shekhar Ghadge; Indira Chaudhari; Tehsildar, Suryakant Patil; Daga Hospital’s Medical Superintendent, Dr Seema Parwekar; medical officer,Dr Sulbha Mul; Superintendent of regional mental hospital, Dr Madhuri Thorat, Zone medical officer of NMC, Dr Rashmi Bhaisare, Wasudeo aakre etc. Dr Deepak Salivkar conducted the proceedings.

Mayor Dayashankar Twari had vowed to create 75 Vandemataram health posts for military professionals in city who received bravery awards and a mega project for 75 students studying in NMC schools for training for JEE NEET examinations. Mayor was addressing the republic day function held in NMC. Deputy Mayor, Manisha Dhawade, Standing Committee Chairman, Vijay Zalke, Leader of Opposition, Tanaji Wanve; NMC Commissioner, Radharishnan B, Additional Commissioner, Jalaj Sharma; Additional Commissioner, Ram Joshi; Sanjay Nipane, Satranjipura Zone Chairman, Abhiruchi Rajgire, Sunil Agrawal, Jitendra Ghodeswar, Mohd Ibrahim were also present. Rajesh Loya, Mahanagar Sanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), unfurled the national flag at the RSS headquarters in Mahal, on the occasion of Republic Day. Dr Hedgewar Smarak Samiti organised a programme to mark Republic Day at Smriti Mandir in Reshimbagh. Well-known dentist Dr Abhay Datarkar was the chief guest on this occasion. Richa Khare, DRM, Central Raiwaly, unfurled the tricolour at Ajni Sports Ground. She discussed different achievements and projects. She also felicitated employees and officers for their dedicated work.

WCL CMD Manoj Kumar unfurled the tricolour and addressed team WCL at Indora Ground. He inspected guard of honour.
