The high of the historic and perhaps the greatest Test series victory against Australia in their own land is yet dissipate in the country even as the Indian players bask in their well-earned glory. However, hangovers can be dangerous if they continue for a longer time. For the Indian team, it would be better to get back to work soon as another good challenge awaits them in a few days.

 

They will open the Test series against visiting England in from February 5 in Chennai. Although, home conditions give a great advantage to the Indian team the English test is not easy to solve especially after the visitors’ exploits in the neighbouring land. Joe Root’s team has landed in India riding on the wave of a 2-0 series sweep in Sri Lanka. The victory is a big moral high for the Englishmen as they carved by defying their traditional weakness against spin on the sub-continent wickets. By taming Lanka at home, the England team walks into the series with a distinct advantage.

 

Though there will be a vast difference in quality of players when they take on India, Root’s team can take heart from the series win while devising a plant against the hosts. The four-Test series seems another good feast for the lovers of traditional cricket.
