Farmers affected due to Mohgaon Reservoir work halt construction

 

 

 

Construction work of well was stopped by the farmers affected due to Mohgaon Reservoir work. It may be mentioned that the work has been stopped by the affected farmers of Mohgaon Reservoir for more than 2 years. Suffering farmers were staging a sit-in by stopping the construction of the reservoir. On Monday morning, the affected farmers reached directly from their picket site to the well construction work and stopped the construction work. As 11 rounds of meetings have already been held with the farmers on behalf of the administration, no solution has been found so far. Farmers are being misled by the afministration due to which the angry farmers stopped the construction work of well. On September 29, 2021, a meeting was held at the district headquarters, in which the farmers were assured by the Deputy Collector that all their demands would be discussed in detail and resolved, but the Water Resource Department started the construction work of well without providing any pre-information to affected farmers, due to which the suffering farmers got angry and stopped the construction work of well by reaching the spot.

 

Again the farmers are being misled, now the farmers had stated that they will allow any kind of construction work till their demands are accepted by the government and the administration and if any kind of force is done by the government administration Farmers have warned for massive demonstration. If there is any kind of damage due to the steps taken, then the government administration will be responsible for that, stated the press release.
