Ranjhi police have solved the blind murder mystery of a businessman and apprehended three accused, including a juvenile, within 24 hours of the incident. The businessman was killed by his relative to take revenge over some old rivalry. The arrested accused have been identified as Bunty alias Omprakash Somkunwar (52), son of Raghunath Somkunwar, his son Saurabh (25), residents of Azad Nagar in Gokalpur and a 16-year-old juvenile. Superintendent of Police, Siddharth Bahuguna disclosed this while addressing a press conference, on Friday.

SP Bahuguna added that learning about the incident of recovery of the body of a man at abandoned quarters in GCF Estate, a police team reached the spot where Preeti Kulmali (34), resident of Azad Nagar, Gokalpur informed that she was the owner of a garment store. On Wednesday, her husband went to the shop and she was resting at home after COVID vaccination. In the evening, she called her husband for bringing some medicine. Her husband did not reach home till 9:30 pm and she started a search and found a bag of her shop in which mobile charger of her husband and medicine of daughter were found but her husband was missing from the spot. She called her tenant Tandon and reached at abandoned quarters and found the body of her husband in no 1 of building number 319.

Investigating the case, police found that unidentified person killed the man by hammering his head with stone.

Investigating the case, police detained relative of deceased, Bunty alias Omprakash on the basis of evidences. Bunty’s wife are five sisters and one of them Nanda Fulmali is a teacher who earlier lived with deceased Deepak but later he started living with her sister Babita, wife of Bunty alias Omprakash after an argument with deceased Deepak. Nanda Foolmali had kept gold jewellery of Rs 8 lakh with Babita.

In June 2021, Babita opened the jewellery box and found that it was artificial jewellery. Nanda has a doubt on Babita’s husband Bunty and son Saurabh and she again started living with deceased Deepak. Thereafter, Bunty and his son, Saurabh planned to kill Deepak. As per planning, they along with a boy stopped Deepak when he was returning home and killed him at the dilapidated house by strangulating and hammering his head with stone.
