Preparations have begun to host the National Tribal Dance Festival, beginning from October 28 at Science College Ground in State Capital. Culture Department, Government of Chhattisgarh has started selection of tribal dance troupes of Chhattisgarh for the National Tribal Dance Festival. A total of 10 dance troupes from all divisions of the State performed at Mahant Ghasidas Memorial Museum, Raipur on Wednesday. Officials of the Culture Department informed that the artists of different genres selected at the divisional level would be selected for the National Tribal Dance Festival. The National Tribal Dance Festival will be held at Science College Ground Raipur from October 28 to 30. Artists from Chhattisgarh and different states of the country will perform in the National Tribal Dance Festival. Besides, artists from several foreign countries will also perform in the National Tribal Dance Festival. Selected dance troupes will get a chance to present the cultural programmes.
Artists from Gariaband and Dhamtari performed in ‘Mandari’ and ‘bhujiya’ dance. Artists from Mahasamund district performed ‘karma’ dance while artists from Bhatapara-Balodabazar presented ‘sua’ dance. In the presentation of tribal dancers, Mandari dance of Gariaband and Dhamtari district, Bhujia dance, Karma dance of Mahasamund district, Suva dancers of Bhatapara-Balodabazar district performed. The officials of the Culture Department also informed that on the instruction of Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, the Chhattisgarh Government has invited governors, Chief Ministers and Lt. Governor & Administrator of the Union Territories to attend the National Tribal Dance Festival. In 2019, the first National Tribal Dance Festival was held, in which artists from several states and seven foreign countries had performed.
