Ramtek cops nab six goons planning major crime, seize weapons

RAMTEK Police nabbed six goons, who were planning to commit a major crime, and seized a rifle fitted with a Gamo sporter 3-9x40 IR telescope, a magazine with seven live cartridges, a sword, a rope, chilli powder, six cellphones and a Toyota Fortuner car (MH-46/W-456) collectively worth Rs 10.43 lakh from them in the small hours of Saturday. The accused have been identified as Sunil alias Tiger Mithailal Gond (45), Ramesh Shrawan Mangate (38), both residents of Kamptee Colliery No 3, Kanhan; Rajan Shrinivas Vinaywar (25), a resident of Santaji Nagar, G N Road, Kandri; Shubham Chandrashekhar Viyanwar (21), a resident of Tumdipur, Lala Oli, Juni Kamptee; Rahul Upasrao Bagde (22), a resident of Ghogri, taluka Pandhurna, district Chhindwara (MP), and Sachin Ramesh Deshmer (24), a resident of Tagla, taluka Ramtek. During ‘Nakabandi’ near Ramtek Bus Stand, police saw the speeding Toyota Fortuner car coming from Mansar direction around 2.20 am. They signalled its driver to stop.
 
However, car driver did not stop and accelerated. Cops chased the car and intercepted it inside the bus stand. Police took the accused into custody after they found the rifle fitted with telescope, seven live rounds, a sword, packets of one kilogramme chilli powder and rope. Police registered a case under Sections 399, 34 of the Indian Penal Code, read with Sections 3, 25 of the Arms Act, against the accused. The arrests were made by Senior PI Pramod Makeshwar, PSI Om Rajkalegurwar, constabulary staff comprising Shivaji Dinde, Atul Bante, Aakash Warkhade, Umesh Parasgaye, Nigtin Giripunje, Gopichand Bendre, Sarika Rathod and Neelima Iwnatey under the supervision of SP (Nagpur Rural) Vijaykumar Magar, Additional SP Rahul Maknikar and officiating SDPO (Ramtek Division) Mukhtar Bagwan.
