Madhusudan Ade has 12 PG degrees and wants to break Dr Shrikant Jichkar’s record of 20 PG degrees
 
 
Just when you thought having two or three academic degrees is a lifetime achievement, comes a man who holds a whopping 12 academic Post Graduation degrees and determined to have 9 more degrees to break the record of 20 PG degrees of Dr Shrikant Jichkar. Madhusudan Charandas Ade, 69-year-old retired Deputy Director of All India Radio (AIR), Nagpur, who is a 1983 batch Indian Information Service officer, is the second highest educated person in Maharashtra after Dr Jichkar. Education has now become a passion for Ade who is holding PG degrees in double digit. After retirement from All India Radio in 2012, Ade bagged two more degrees and he is planning to break the record of Dr Jichkar of 20 PG degrees till 2025. Ade is having MA in Sociology, MA in History, MA in Political Science, MA in Public Administration, MA in English Literature, MA in Marathi Literature, MA in Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Thoughts, MA in Dr B R Ambedkar Thoughts, MA in Pali and Prakrit, MA in Geography, National Eligibility Test for Lectureship and M Phil in History.
 
“I failed five times during school and college time, but it never stopped me to gain knowledge. Even during my service, I developed my passion and started obtaining PG degrees to fulfill my dream to be the most educated person in Maharashtra,” Ade told The Hitavada. Ade is currently pursuing for MA in Philosophy from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU). The retired IIS officer is currently the second most educated person in Maharashtra after Dr Jichkar. “I am targeting to obtain 21 PG degrees till 2025.
 
If I get time and everything will be all right then I will plan to get more PG Degrees,” he added. Ade got these 12 PG Degrees from different Universities of the country. Ade’s three sons Manzeal, Saahil and Safar are well established and doing good in their profession. Though he failed five times in academics, Ade cracked UPSC examination and joined IIS Cadre in 1983. Apart from chasing his dreams, Ade is also help financially week students by guiding them for the preparation of UPSC examination.
