THE Central India Coal Dealers A s s o c i a t i o n organised its 33rd annual general meeting (AGM) recently. In the meeting, the members elected the new body to lead the association. Satyanarayan Rathi was elected as the new President and Rajendra Bansal, General Secretary. Similarly, Dharampal Agarwal and Satish Jain both were elected as the new Vice-Presidents. Dilip Agarwal and Riyank Agarwal both were elected as the Joint Secretaries and Naresh Jain was elected as the Treasurer. The members unanimously selected Shyam Wagh as the Election Officer. The newly elected President Satyanarayan Rathi in his welcome speech said that Coal India has not increased the notified rates in the past 3-4 years.
Apart from this, Coal India had conducted the eauction inwhich the rates were three times higher than notified. As a result of this, in the open market the coal p r ices were going through the roof. From the past few months the power plants were facing shortage of coal due to which Coal India had suspended the eauction of coal. Thus, industries that were buying coal from e-auction to operate their plants were facing a huge crisis. Another reason for the crisis was higher imported coal prices. Rajendra Bansal spoke about the activities conducted by the association from time to time. He also proposed the formal vote of thanks.
